A red upside-down triangle on the dial indicates home time, such as the time at your place of residence or place of work, on a 24-hour rotating disc. The disc's 24-hour display makes it possible to instantly determine am or pm home time.
fluted bezel
The Rolex Fluted Bezel is a symbol of excellence. Originally, the notches on the Oyster bezel had a functional purpose, screwing the bezel onto the case and ensuring the water resistance of the watch. The indentation was therefore also applied to the back case, which was screwed into the case using Rolex's own tools for the same reason of maintaining water resistance. Over time, the bezel notch became a design element and a Rolex symbol. Today, the fluted bezel is a symbol of excellence and is produced exclusively in gold.
18 ct yellow gold
Owning its own foundry, Rolex has the expertise to cast the highest quality 18 ct gold alloys. Depending on the amount of silver, copper, platinum and palladium mixed together, different types of 18 ct gold are produced: yellow, pink and white. The extremely pure metals from which these alloys are made are scrutinized in our state-of-the-art laboratories. The gold alloy is then manufactured and shaped with the same meticulous care. Rolex's relentless pursuit of watchmaking extends to bare metal.
